In #null, phroggy's bot frogbot periodically displays headlines from various news sources. To ignore frogbot's headline spamming:

    In Irssi: /ignore -regexp -pattern "^\\\(news\\\) .*" frogbot!*@*

    In mIRC: Press ALT+R to open the Remote tab of the mIRC Scripts Editor. Paste this into the box:
             on ^*:text:(news) *:#: { if ($nick == frogbot) { haltdef } }
